THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Project Manager to join out Customer Success delivery team based in Hong Kong. We have an opportunity to join our acclaimed Customer Success delivery team, based in Hong-Kong (HK) as the lead Project Manager for our clients in the region.  This is a senior position, with significant responsibility and authority, reporting directly to the APAC Customer Success Director and leading a matrix-style team of 20+ staff which is responsible for setting up and implementing a range of Sigma solutions across multiple clients to help them carry out an effective digital transformation.

 

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY

Your role will be to manage large, complex projects for Telcom, Media, IoT, Energy and Utilities clients which have the ultimate goal of taking the complexity out of their systems and moving them to a data-driven approach creating efficiency, increasing productivity, and improving speed to market as well as monetization.  In short; we want to help them succeed by making challenging things simple.

This is a busy role, replacing a successful returning expat and picking up multiple projects streams while winning new work; drawing upon appropriate skills from our ‘bench’ of talented delivery specialists to move them forward in a timely fashion, all the while working with our R&D teams to ensure we are always offering our clients the best possible solutions that provide genuine competitive advantage.

 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

As you would expect of any capable PM professional; monitoring and managing performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality and other relevant P3M data is a core part of your role.  You’ll also be working directly with the clients to identify and develop business requirements and proposals, translating them into formal agreements and viable delivery plans.

Your team is based in a number of different locations and comprises a number of different skillsets and backgrounds, so experience leading cross-functional teams that are geographically distributed will be important to your success.  You’ll also function as an internal and external liaison, able to identify and drive the resolution of challenges in a timely fashion while evaluating the ongoing success of projects and taking appropriate corrective action.

While we do not need an in-depth technical expert, it’s likely that you need a well-established track record of successful delivery in Project Management, either Telcom or a closely related sector in order to understand the products, systems, technology and customer drivers while understanding the ‘big picture’ context or impact of both the projects and any revisions to them.  Product BSS and OSS domain knowledge, experience with complex systems and a practiced ease with Agile are also needed for you to succeed and delivery the right quality of service to our clients.

You’ll also possess first-class written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships up to and including executive level internally and externally; engaging as a consummate professional who gains trust and leads by example.  Your style is likely to be solution-orientated (i.e. finds a way), focusing on delivery but remaining calm, collected and inspirational in the face of challenging deadlines or unforeseen complexities; we need you to provide genuine leadership and coaching to the delivery teams as the projects evolve.
While all our business is conducted in English, fluency in Cantonese (spoken/audible) as well as an appreciation for the particulars of the HK market and clients would be regarded positively.  Please note that the role is based in Hong-Kong full-time.
