SUMMARY

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly experienced Product Architect who is able to provide expertise and architectural guidance to a wide range of teams and stakeholders, effectively being the conduit between the external consumers of the Sigma products and the Products team itself. You must be able to ensure and drive product strategy and best practice across multiple customer deliveries and evangelize the Sigma solutions from Pre-sales through to Delivery. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Sigma’s Products organization consists of dynamic, experienced and highly motivated product professionals focused on delivering cutting edge and innovative product solutions for the Communications, Media and High Tech industries.  The Product Architect plays a pivotal role within the Products team shaping and evolving the product portfolio.

The Product Architect role is dynamic, multi-dimensional and high profile, Product Architects are responsible for:

PRODUCT EXPERTISE

  • Be an expert on the architecture, capabilities, role, use and value of our products
  • Be a trusted expert on our products – able to deliver workshops, presentations, demos and training on any of our products
  • Be an expert on modelling, configuration and development tools
  • Be an expert on the industry in which Sigma sells (Communications, Media & High Tech)
  • Be an expert in Technical Selling and Technical delivery of our products
  • Draft white papers on key topics
  • Conduct webinars on key topics
  • Attend / speak at conferences on key topics
  • Represent our products, vision and messages at marketing events

 

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT / ENGINEERING SUPPORT

  • Support Product Management on defining product requirements backlog, domain models, product literature etc
  • Support Product Management & Engineering on defining flexible architectures for current and future requirements
  • Participate in product design workshops, helping to ensure consistency in our approach to solutions across our portfolio
  • Support the evolution of capabilities in Sigma Lab, assisting in prototyping new product ideas or new features on existing products as part of the Lab sprints

 

REFERENCE ARCHITECTURE

  • Evolve the definition of Sigma’s reference architecture as the product suit evolves, including the application of the architecture depending upon the deployment of different products to different customers
  • Drive the evolution & interoperability of our end-to-end portfolio, feeding key requirements back into the product roadmaps, working in conjunction with the individual Product Managers
  • Define use cases and user stories in support of the evolving reference architecture and coordinate with Product Managers to roadmap capabilities as required
  • Evolve the reference data models as the reference architecture evolves
  • Define, Document and Maintain best practices and reference architecture on the common uses of Sigma products
    • Prepare and own presentation material on reference uses of Sigma products
    • Models – Define best practice models for common uses of the products
    • Use Cases – define for common uses of our products
    • Integrations – define integration stories for the common types of integrations
    • Maintain backlog of cross product requirements – tracking to specific product requirements
    • Identify gaps in our products and work with Product Management on backlog approaches to address those gaps
    • Maintain a backlog of cross product functionality with dependencies to the related products

 

RESEARCH & INNOVATION

  • Deliver key strategic initiatives that advance our product roadmaps and promote our portfolio in the industry, helping to define and support our Go-to-Market plans in conjunction with the CTO / VP of Products
  • Develop an understanding of key standards and their application within our portfolio. Investigate new industry trends and communications technologies and develop strategies for how our products can be applied to showcase these capabilities.
  • Work with standards organizations to monitor and influence the development of standards relevant to our industry

 

SALES & MARKETING SUPPORT

  • Provide cross-product expertise and strategic insight for new customer opportunities, supporting Sales & Pre-Sales in complex solution scoping, deep dive workshops and customer proof-of-concepts (POCs); with an emphasis on consultative support, working with Sales and the customer to listen/advise/devise solutions
  • Act as Product Expert/Subject Matter Expert/Lead for Strategic sales opportunities, particularly ones that involve more than one of our products

 

DELIVERY & PARTNER SUPPORT

  • Advise key accounts in deployment blueprint definition, direction and decisions, particularly where multiple products & op-co’s are involved, supporting Customer Account Management & Delivery teams
  • Act as Product Expert/Subject Matter Expert/Lead for Strategic solution deliveries, particularly ones that involve more than one of our products
  • Support the creation of labs within partner organizations
  • Support use case definition and functional evolution of partner lab capabilities
  • Maintain a relationship with key customers and partners identified as strategic. Many of our customers expect a direct relationship with the Products group.

 

BROADER ORGANIZATION SUPPORT

  • Be an expert who can be consulted on many levels:
    • Be an expert on the architecture, capabilities, role, use and value of our products
      • Trusted expert on our products – able to deliver workshops, presentations, demos and training on any of our products

    • Expand the skill set on consulting and managing customers
    • Lead/Participate in Community of Practices for solution architecture, modeling and configuration
    • Mentor technical community within Sigma to encourage them to develop into the next set of experts

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience, including time spent focusing on architecture within the Communications, Media and High Tech industries
  • Detailed knowledge of BSS/OSS solutions with focus on the following products

    • Quote and Order Capture
    • Fulfilment (Order Management & Provisioning)

    • Insights
