TORONTO, ON - May 2, 2005 - Sigma Systems, the broadband IP and wireless industry's leading provider of OSS (operations support systems) service management solutions, today announced it has been selected as a finalist for two Billing and OSS World 2005 Awards of Excellence. Notably, Sigma has been nominated for the best overall company award, as well as its product, Advanced Diagnostics Manager has been nominated as one of the best new products of the year.
The awards, recognizing the best achievements in the telecom and broadband industries, are issued by TeleStrategies, publishers of Billing World and OSS Today Magazine, (www.billingworld.com) the industry's leading publication. The award ceremony takes place during the OSS World 2005 Excellence Awards reception at TeleStrategies' Billing & OSS World 2005 Conference & Exhibition May 4, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in the Liberty Ballroom at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Pennsylvania.
During the past twelve months, Sigma had achieved numerous milestones in the cable, wireless and DSL market verticals:
- In June 2004, Sigma extended its broadband OSS leadership by launching its Wireless Solution for mobile wireless service providers. The solution has since been deployed at a large North American wireless service provider.
- In August 2004, Sigma partnered with Camiant, the premier provider of intelligent PacketCableT MultiMedia-based policy servers and application managers, to deliver automated service tier upgrades and bandwidth on demand to cable subscribers.
- In October 2004, Sigma and Zero-Knowledge Systems partnered to provide integrated OSS, privacy, anti-virus and security solutions for Adelphia Communications. Today, the robust solution offers self-subscription and automated provisioning to deliver value-added services to Adelphia's subscribers.
- Again in October 2004, Sigma announced it supports more than 15 million subscribers worldwide as it continues to increase its dominance in the global service management marketplace
- In February 2005, Sigma and Sandvine partnered, allowing service operators to identify and treat malicious traffic events such as denial of service attacks (DoS) using PacketCableT Multimedia technology.
- Again in February 2005, the company launched its new customer self-care portal supporting VoIP called the Voice Client Services Center. The product helps operators offload customer call center activity, significantly reducing costs
- In March 2005, Sigma announced its service management platform supports LiWest's newest VoIP offering, as Liwest deployed true triple-play services
- Last month Sigma announced Rogers Cable, Canada's largest cable television company, has selected it to support Rogers' delivery of digital phone services based upon PacketCable VoIP technology.
- Finally, last month Sigma announced its service management platform had been deployed at I-Spatial in India, where it supports the service creation and fulfillment of premium content, video, e-learning and gaming services in conjunction with a DSL network infrastructure.
Sigma's Advanced Diagnostics Manager is nominated as a finalist in the best new product of the year award. The product combines a script driven interface with automated diagnostic tests, analysis, and intelligent transition rules to optimally guide the service diagnostic interaction with subscribers, to accurately resolve service problems across the complete suite of services, in the least time possible. The solution's benefits include:
- Simplification, optimization and standardization of the diagnostic process to substantially reduce call handle times and training costs, while delivering improved customer experience
- Increased rate of correct diagnosis on the first call, to avoid the costs of unnecessary truck rolls, CPE swaps, repeat calls and incorrect escalations
- Extensive management information, easily analyzed to optimize diagnostic processes, coach CSRs, identify problem trends and problem reduction programs, and to better target routine network maintenance activity
- The ability to offer self diagnostics for call avoidance and remote testing by installation and repair technicians, ensuring service is working properly before leaving the customer's site
- A Script Designer tool, enabling service providers to easily create or modify diagnostic scripts and tests
"The results are clear. 2004, was our best year ever, and it's no coincidence," said Preston Gilmer, Vice President of Product Marketing, Sigma Systems. "In 2004, we expanded our customer base and depth of solutions in cable broadband with several successful deployments emerging for VoIP, while extending our proven OSS solutions into the wireless and DSL portfolios- furthering our technology and customer base, well ahead of our competitors.
