Sigma Systems' Voice Client Services Center Nominated As Finalist For Prestigious Industry Award
TORONTO, ON - June 7, 2005 - Sigma Systems, (www.sigma-systems.com), the broadband IP and wireless industry's leading provider of OSS (operations support systems) service management solutions, today announced its Voice Client Services Center (CSC) has been selected by Communications Technology as a finalist in its Readers Choice Awards. The Readers Choice Awards recognize the best achievements in the cable industry and are issued by Access Intelligence, publishers of Communications Technology Magazine, (www.ct-magazine.com).
The Sigma Voice CSC is the latest addition to the company's award-winning Sigma Systems Product Portfolio, a growing suite of service management applications and solutions for automating delivery of next-generation voice, data/Internet, wireless and video services. The foundation of the award-winning portfolio is the Sigma Service Management Platform.
"These awards recognize innovation and excellence in our industry and it's thanks to companies like Sigma Systems that the cable space is as dynamic as it is," said Jerry Gunderson, Publisher, Communications Technology Magazine. "Today, more than ever before, the industry is concerned with ROI - and those companies that are finalists have demonstrated real-world applications to address today's challenges."
The Sigma Voice CSC is designed specifically to meet cable operators' demands for more subscriber-initiated service management functions, managed directly by subscribers themselves. Typically, service providers' large call centers handle service orders, provisioning and activation as well as service diagnostics, but call center involvement in day-to-day service upgrades and routine service modification processes are costly.
The Sigma Voice CSC greatly reduces CSR operational costs for routine changes and updates to subscribers' service profiles by reducing the volume of call center activity. The product's e-portal gives subscribers greater autonomy to manage their voice services online. Subscribers can view their account and service information; select new voice telephony call features and feature bundles, as well as change features and personal parameters related to specific features. Customer self-service even allows providers to deploy new services, unprofitable if burdened by the expense of customer service representative (CSR) involvement in day-to-day service additions, upgrades and routine modification processes.
"The Sigma Voice CSC is the result of our deep industry understanding coupled with our more than 10 years experience in the OSS space," said Preston Gilmer, Vice-President, Product Marketing, Sigma Systems. "Our new self-service portal provides tangible cost savings, stimulates new revenue and provides broadband operators with greater autonomy and flexibility than ever before."
The Reader's Choice winner will be determined via ballot voting from general attendance at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo to be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on June 15-17 in San Antonio, Texas. The Sigma Voice Client Services Center can be viewed at booth 233 at the SCTE tradeshow.
