The Sigma Systems’ Service Management Platform (SMP) provides the foundation for the efficient creation, delivery, and management for advanced communications and entertainment services. SMP is an award-winning, end-to-end solution that is carrier-grade and proven in top tier deployments around the world.
This robust foundation for service delivery enables rapid service creation, advanced order management, service inventory management, subscriber management, and automated provisioning and activation for advanced IP-enabled services. SMP is pre-integrated with the company’s comprehensive portfolio of Service Packages and Service Management Applications to help operators quickly and efficiently design, deliver, and manage rich, new services offerings.
Sigma Systems’ Service Management Platform (SMP) is the premier multi-play fulfillment platform worldwide and rapidly transforms service providers into Next-Generation Operators (NGOs) whereby they can leverage a common Platform to deliver any type of IP-enable service or complimentary service application. SMP is designed specifically to deliver, provision, and fulfill a common set of pre-defined residential and business services and operational use cases across multi-technology network domains. The result for NGOs is accelerated time to revenue, substantial reduction in operating costs, and improved customer satisfaction as a result of a providing their customers with a superior service experience.
SMP has been enhanced by over a decade of deployment experience for leading Next Generation Operators around the world. Its most notable capabilities include:
- Real-Time Workflow Management - At SMP’s core is Sigma’s ServiceBroker™, a BPEL-enabled workflow engine that orchestrates the intelligent provisioning, activation and delivery of subscribed, on-demand and event-driven services.
- Advanced Order Management Functionality – SMP provides unparalleled control and visibility of service orders as they are processed and delivered. SMP enables every order to be accurately captured, qualified, validated, assured, measured for its impact on network and service inventory resources; with orders protected, tracked, orchestrated, and reported on throughout the entire order management process.
SMP includes standard certified APIs to speed and ease implementation into existing environments and to ensure premium interoperability and flexibility. Most notably SMP is the first multi-service fulfillment platform to receive certification for the TM Forum’s OSS/J Order Management API, Information Framework JSR-264. This open-standards-based API significantly improves operational efficiencies and can help reduce deployment costs as much as 30%.
- Service Authorization - orchestrates subscriber authorization and authentication and provides visibility into pre-pay accounts, customer entitlements, subscriber and service-level policies and other information that impacts service provisioning and activation.
- Service Inventory Management - provides an integrated, service-layer view of physical and logical resources to ensure that network and service-level provisioning processes can be conducted automatically, and without failure.
- Comprehensive Provisioning and Activation - delivers a complete view of end-to-end service fulfillment processes including the customer, service and network-level data management required for real-time automation.
SMP is imbued with leading-edge capabilities that provide the foundation for automated service fulfillment such as:
A federated information model which drives data integrity and provides an integrated view of subscribers, services, and network elements to drive automated service.
An integration framework which provides rich connection management, fail-over, and industry standard protocol adapters to integrate with operations and business systems; network elements; and service and application delivery platforms.
An order decomposition capability that automatically identifies the service and network-level actions necessary for fulfillment; verifies service availability to the subscriber; and updates subscriber profiles as orders are fulfilled.
Impact assessment dynamically determines the appropriate set and order of network and service resources to provision. SMP can then uniquely reuse any service on any access network ensuring all services are repeatable, reusable and rapidly delivered.
Workflow Management templates which manage all of the manual and automated variables involved in the fulfillment process and provide visibility into order status, dispatch, order ownership and dependencies.
Authorization Management that provides authentication and authorization for user logon processes and enables single sign-on across all Sigma Service Management Applications.
Sigma Service Mangement Applications
SMP can be extended as a complete, revenue-ready solution with pre-integrated applications that enable order capture and tracking; service inventory management; self-subscription and self-care; and service-level diagnostics.
